Apparently I watch too many disaster movies. Last time the kids were all about playing sinking ship after watching Titanic. This week they have been asking all sorts of questions about tornados following the movie Twister. And after last night's earthquake (that we didn't feel) we- Megan and Ryan are obsessed with the idea of another earthquake.
The thing is they are not obsessed in the bad way, worried about what will happen, well I guess they sort of are, but they are not worried about anything really bad happening. Now they ask things like, "When the tornado comes will it take away my dinner?" or "Will the earthquake knock over my trains?" "Do the cats think the earthquake tickled their tummies?" It is nonstop. I suppose deep down they are probably a little worried, so I try not to brush off any of their questions, and try my best to answer them without laughing, and keep reminding them that we never even felt the earthquake (we are such sound sleepers) and that we are more than prepared since we all know what to do for a tornado.
But perhaps my movie selection should return to something far less scary like You've Got Mail or 27 Dresses!
