Can you believe Ryan is 4 already! I still remember how tiny he was when he fit into my arms! But no more; he is such a big boy now!
Let's see, a quick what is Ryan like: well he is a super smiley little boy who is always filled with more energy than I ever knew existed! Ryan loves school, playing with his friends, and trains, trains, trains! He loves to talk, loudly and a lot (we're not sure where he gets these qualities), and he loves to snuggle, especially with his mommy-this is one I hope he never outgrows!
For his birthday we took him for a train ride to his favorite restaurant, Two Toots in Glen Ellyn. As you can imagine it was a train themed restaurant, you know the kind where they deliver you food via train. He loved it! He told the manager that he wants to work there when he gets a little bigger, and he made sure everyone there knew it was his birthday!
Of course the downside to traveling by train is that you have to follow their schedule. So we finished with our lunch, and lingered for as long as we could, but then we just had to tour around downtown Glen Ellyn. Now, normally thsi would be the highlight of the day for me as I love visiting all the little shops and bookstores, however apparently Mother Nature did not get the memo about today being the first day of spring. The whipping winds and the snow made walking anywhere outside absolutely zero fun, and having to be out there for 1-1/2 was really quite brutal! I mean, we really couldn't stay in the little antique shops with the kids for more than a few minutes before I started having heart palpitations thinking about what might break! Eventually we got home and into some warm clothes with some hot chocolate, and then the reflections of the day were pretty once again!
