We wish all of you a belated Happy St. Patty's Day!Last Saturday Megan and Ryan danced in the parade with the McNulty Irish Dancers, and they both did a great job. It drizzled and misted the entire time, and it was a little over a mile, and both kids made it up until the very last stretch before hopping onto the trolley. Afterwards we stopped for brunch at Heaven on Seven-not Irish, but yummy anyway, and we watched the rest of the parade. Then we headed to Border's Books to see Ralph Covert of Ralph's World- a favorite of the kids. Ryan brought his guitar along and played along with Ralph the entire time. Ralph even signed Ryan's guitar!
We continued to celebrate all week long as the kids decided to add a song to our dinner prayers, Lord of the Dance. Megan knows all the words to the entire song, and Ryan has been found singing the chorus at various points throughout the week. If you have seen the video, clearly he IS the lord of the Dance! I am enjoying hearing it ringing through our house no matter who is singing!
On Wednesday my principal put me in charge of organizing a party in lieu of our faculty meeting. Do you think this Irish party-girl had any problems with that job? Absolutely not. I found a nice establishment, not Irish- but Italian that threw in free appetizers and was local. We had a great time, played a fun vocabulary game (that's what you get when you put the speech-language pathologist in charge of activities), had some yummy food, green beer and awesome socializing. Best faculty meeting yet!
