So yesterday a couple of friends from work and I all flew to Vegas for the Bon Jovi concert. We decided to save our money on a hotel room since we would hardly be there a nd just pull an all-nighter.
Our inicial plan was to not get too crazy so we wouldn't crash midway through the night. Well, by the time the limo dropped us off at the airport crazy was already on its way. We had mimosas, then our flight was delayed an hour so we had a little time to kill, and maybe a drink or two!
When we arrived in Vegas we got all dolled up in the airport bathroom, and put all of our stuff in an airport locker and headed out for some fun.
We went to the Wynn for their dinner buffet-yum! Then it was off to the concert. And it was FANTASTIC! That man is unbelievably beautiful-and we spoke to each other, over a crowd of about 30,000! No really, I was overcome with excitement, and it got really quiet int eh stadium and I yelled, "I love you JON!" To which he responded, "I love you all too!" He spoke to ME!!! As you can imagine I was quite ecstatic! They played for nearly 3 hours with no breaks, and the entire show was amazing! They played all the old favorites mixed in with many new songs, including Megan's favorite! We had SOOOO much fun! There were many mullets in the crowd, and the lady in front of us who truly looked like she was plucked right out from 1987! We kept trying to get a picture, but since we are relatively sure this wasn't a costume, we didn't want to be too obvious and insulting!
After the show we headed to the casinos for some gambling. The slots were none too kind to me so I lost a little and mostly people-watched. And let me tell you about 2am there are some pretty freaky people in that town!
At some point we decided to try our luck at the "old Vegas," and I even taught the girls to play roulette. We had a good time and lots of laughs!
We made it safely back to the airport as exhausted as can be. We all fell asleep before take-off and slept most of the plane ride home. I did get up at one point because the plane got a little too hot, and I nearly tackled people to get them out of my way to the flight attendant area because I got a little light headed. But they were so kind and gave me some ice for my neck, and I was magically cured. They did say several people were complaining about it being too hot on the plane, so I don't believe it was totally self-induced, but my wild fun was probably partially to blame!
I am pretty sure I won't make it up for the Academy Awards tonight. Up until the plane ride yesterday I hadn't seen one sinlge nominated movie, oh wait was Up nominated? Well maybe one. And on the plane yesterday we watched Up in the Air so now I am two which will be the first time in at least a decade that I have watched a nomiated movie before the awards! I think I will be going to bed in about an hour. Someone tell who wins, and who was best and worst dressed!
