The weather, that is! If you are living in the midwest you must have been enjoying these unseasonably warm past few days! A couple of 80 degree days, and the best part was we were on our spring vacation so we really got to enjoy them!
I know in the next few days and weeks when the weather is perfectly springlike we will be missing these absolutely beautiful days that really felt more like summer. And we are soooo wishing for summer.
The fourth quarter is always the toughest, for me anyway. It seems like everyone gets a little antsy and eager to be finished. People, that is the teachers as well as the students, need a long break from each other as this seems to be the time of year when people really start getting on each others nerves. Those annoying habits that your co-worker did that amused you in September, well by April or May they are no longer cute or endearing. You see it in the kids too. In the beginning of the year the kids are happy to see each other after the summer, they are patient when someone is struggling, they easily take turns and wait in lines, but by spring they know each other all too well. They know how to push each other's buttons, they know which drinking fountain works the best, and fight to be the first one to reach it! The temperatures get warmer and the rooms do too (at least in my school since we don't have AC), the kids get stinky (ever smelled a 5th or 6th grade classroom after recess? ugh!) This is the longest stretch of the year! And we are going in for the last 42 days starting on Monday! (yep, countdown has begun!)
